Our school serves children and parents coming from a variety of social, spiritual, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Indeed, this is an essential component of Waldorf education, where diversity strengthens and enriches the spirit of community. Those drawn to the school find themselves and the world mirrored in the values and relationships that thrive here.

First grade movement class.Ashwood Waldorf School owes its vitality to a lively interaction between all community members. The school is administered by the faculty, who make decisions regarding classroom experience. Financial and legal expertise from the Ashwood Board of Trustees supports the organizational and planning efforts of the School. In giving parents regular opportunities to participate in the life of the School, Ashwood aims to enrich the lives of its families. Parents learn about child development and the curriculum through parent nights and study groups. Children and families gather for community celebrations of seasonal and cultural festivals. Volunteer work on school committees and fundraising events gives parents the opportunity to work together in the spirit of creativity for the greater good of the School. All of these activities model collaboration and involvement to the children.
